(Good) Friday Recs: Some Triduum levity, mostly via pictures and music

Dark breakfast, Preacher Heeler, Muppet music, and more

Blurry last supper mosaic

Friends, I bid you peace of mind and tenderness of heart as we enter again into the most sacred mysteries of our faith.

But if you need a laugh along the way, I have a couple of very, very silly things to share or reshare.

Writer's Block Meme

Kristin had some Easter sermon fatigue early in the week and asked me to make this meme. IYKYK (context)

Bluey meme with caption "I HAVE NOTHING TO SAY TO YOU ABOUT THE SON"

The Hunt for Dark Breakfast

Was trolling my saved links for anything fun I'd been meaning to share and found the perfect thing:

Map of common breakfasts plotted by ratio of flour, eggs, milk
“In the manifold of breakfast, are there empty subspaces? Might there be breakfasts that no one has ever had? With a theoretical model of breakfast, can we derive the existence of ‘dark breakfasts,’ breakfasts that we know must exist, but have never observed?”

I miss when the Internet was full of more stuff like this, basically nerds having playful, good-natured fun.

A Gem from 2014

Speaking of nerdy fun from the Old Internet, I give you: Muppet Christ Superstar

Beaker singing backups on "What's the Buzz" is my favorite. Also Pepé the Prawn, okay?

I learned about this one from Glen Weldon on Pop Culture Happy Hour way back when. He also happens to throw out some good Holy Week one-liners most years, if that's your jam.

Easter Playlist

When the time comes, I'll say I definitely enjoy returning to this playlist year after year:

Theses & Thrones

After you've come to, post-Easter Monday, you gotta ask yourself a question: Do I need a theological strategy game about the English Reformation in my life?

You probably do.

Blessings, friends. Praying for you and for us all during this especially strange Holy Week. I'm grateful for your ministry.
